Road Trip!

On July 11th, 2013 I embarked on a road trip to visit my family in California.  I knew I wanted to try this adventure alone so with the blessing of my therapist, I got the H out of Texas.  Well....I drove for eight, long hours and then I was out of Texas.

While on the road I discovered many things about traveling, people and most importantly, myself.  I've taken the liberty to list them for your reading pleasure...
  • Texas is a big ass state...and quite boring...glad I drove through it at night.
  • I have great friends that kept me awake with ridiculous conversations, except for one who got me so distracted I ended up 10 miles off course...
  • Adele and Mariah have nothing on me when it comes to hitting those high notes.
  • I can do a mean steering wheel dance....I even broke a nail!
  • My vehicle can go pretty far without my hands on the wheel.
  • El Paso is pretty...at night.
  • Las Cruces, New Mexico is a creepy little place.  Too clean, too quiet, too peaceful...
  • You've seen one cactus...you've seen them all.
  • Weird biker men smile at women gassing up early in the morning...maybe it was the dress...the low cut, I don't care what I'm wearing because I'm F***ing tired, dress.
  • The only thing fun about Arizona is singing Mel Tillis' "Send me down to Tuscon." And baby I can sing that song like nobody's business.  http://youtu.be/-n-APb0XcCI
  • Rest areas are great places to people watch, when you have time.
  • The mountains entering California are the worst mountains ever!  I don't like them here or there.  I don't like them anywhere!
  • It is not good to drive for 21 hours straight, your ass takes a beating!
  • It IS good to drive for 21 hours straight if you need to clear your mind of years of clutter!
  • I am a good one-handed picture taker.
  • I enjoy my own company.
  • I'm pretty damn smart.
  • I love my family and have been blessed with amazing friends.
  • I am determined to live a purpose driven life.
  • I am capable of letting go.
  • I still have the ability to love.
  • Absence does not make the heart grow fonder.
  • I know who I want sitting with me at a dinner table.
  • Life is sweeter when you're appreciated and loved.
